At the 2011 Ampersand Conference in Brighton, UK, designer Vincent Conarre gave a talk about the history of the infamous Comic Sans typeface, which he designed in early 1990s as a more appropriate typographic voice for Microsoft Bob. At the lecture, Conarre showed its original euro symbol, that was later removed because “the EU was going to sue us over that”.
