The fragment, found in Gustav Mori’s type specimen collection, shows a lone lowercase roman designed by Hermann (Hermannus) Berg, factor at the Stengel’s type foundry in Augsburg.

Berg’s Coarse Canon serves as a source for the lowercase of Aura Antiqua, which bases its capital forms on a contemporary design by the Lübeck-based printer Johann Nicolaus Thun.
