During his time as a teacher at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zürich, Walter Käch published his compendium on lettering – a never before seen systematic approach to designing letterforms. The 1949 publication became influential in developing the neo grotesk style of sans serif typefaces, first presented at the Graphic 57 trade fair in Lausanne.
