The minister Johan Eenbergh sketched a translation of the Gospel of Luke into three Elfdalian dialects in his unpublish manuscript, Kort Proof af Dahlske Språketz, in 1693. An analysis of the language follows in Kort Berättelse om dahlska Språkets Egenskaper, Dialecter, Alphabeth etc (1702).
